SOMACC's Multicultural Festival Brought Together Families to Celebrate Diversity

September 21, 2018

South of Market Child Care, Inc.’s (SOMACC) Fall Multicultural Festival took place on September 15th at the outdoor space of SOMACC’s main facility on 790 Folsom Street.

This free and public event brought more than 100 families together, on a beautiful Saturday morning, to welcome the new enrolled families at SOMACC, encourage cross-fertilization of support between the South of Market Family Resource Center (SOMA FRC) families, SOMACC families and SOMA community families; and to celebrate our community’s diversity.

Some guests came wearing their cultural/traditional attires.

A variety of food from different cultures were provided and shared by all.

The entertainment was provided by Danza Azteca, Fogo Na Roupa, Ukelenny, Leung’s White Crane Lion Dance and Tree Frog Treks.

The Fall Multicultural Festival was made possible through the collaboration of the SOMA FRC, SOMACC Child Development Centers, SOMA Community Stabilization Fund, First 5 San Francisco, and SOMA Rebuilding Together.

An amazing time was had by all!
