Along with San Francisco moving into Phase2B of allowing more business and social activities to resume with required safety protocols in place, South of Market Child Care, Inc. (SOMACC) reopened its doors on June 15th to welcome back nearly 80 children and families in our early care and education program at our three child development centers: The Yerba Buena Gardens CDC, Judith Baker CDC and Transbay CDC.
Due to requirements and additional standards enforced by the City and State, enhanced policies and protocols are in place and a number of modifications were made at SOMACC to ensure the well-being of the children, families and our workforce, including reduced operating hours, limited group size, social distancing procedures, daily health screening, the use of face masks, and rigorous hygiene and cleaning practices.
More children will be able to return to our program when the requirement allows us to increase our capacity. In the meantime, our distance learning and virtual offerings are ongoing to ensure that we are staying connected to the families who are yet to come back.
As we begin to return from this uncertain time and navigate the new normal outside our homes, SOMACC will continue to be of service to help our community recover.
